In 1985 Jeff Cromer was getting ready to open a Pizza Restaurant in Benicia for a national chain as a franchisee and shortly before opening the deal fell apart. Jeff, having been in the pizza business for all of his young life, decided to forge ahead with his own concept and the rest is shall we say “history”.
Since that fateful decision, that was fraught with dangers, Jeff persevered in growing his fledgling pizza making operation there on First Street in Benicia. He decided early on that he wanted to be more than just a pizza shop so over the years he started to add some pasta and other items to the menu. Fortunately he met up with Chef Renato Iacopetti who helped to develop that menu with him. As they added an item or two their menu grew to what it is today – a full Italian menu that also offers some great pizza as well.
Jeff opened a second store in Vallejo and things continued to grow. He added some people who helped expand the operation beyond Solano county to its present size of 11 stores in 8 cities in California. Jeff though remains focused on what he started…making good food at a fair price.
